Wayne Maugans began directing as an undergraduate at New York University. For him, acting and directing are shared disciplines that continue to inform his theater-making practice. Mentored by actor/director Joseph Chaikin — with whom he worked closely for more than a decade — Mr. Maugans has directed numerous New York City and World premieres. In 2013 he co-founded Voyage Theater Company, a not-for-profit organization focusing on international plays and social justice. Wayne received his MFA in Directing from Brooklyn College, and is a member of the Lincoln Center Directors’ Lab and The Fence.
